HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO LEARN IGBO?

I get this question all the time, and to be honest, there is no fixed answer to it. The length of time it will take to learn will vary from person to person depending on these factors:

-Desired proficiency or fluency level: Igbo can be learnt to different proficiency levels. Look at it this way. An English pupil and an English lawyer are both proficient in English, but at different levels. Attaining beginner levels will take less time, and more advanced levels will require more time.

– Current and/or previous exposure to Igbo language: All things being equal, someone who understands Igbo already will learn in less time than another with no prior exposure.

– Commitment and consistency: This is the most important factor. The higher the commitment, the faster it will take to achieve your goals. Consistency matters too as gaps in between studies means time to forget what you have already learnt.

– Time allocated to study: The more time allocated to study and practice, the faster it will take to learn.

Remember, whatever length of time you will take to learn begins when you take the first step towards your Igbo learning journey. Contact us today to learn how you can start your Igbo learning journey.
